Many self-help advisors claim that ‘Everything you need is already within you’. But is this really true? What does the Word of God - the Bible - have to say?
by Shana Heslin
Many of us have already lost friends, jobs and other life opportunities because of our faith in God, and for our commitment to His law. Many have undertaken a commitment to God with a willingness to sacrifice everything, even ones life, to honour God. However, are we really so convicted that we would stand firm in life-and-death circumstances?

Is Australia Day nothing more than a day off work for you? Or a day to eat lamb on the barbie, or go to the cricket? It is much more than those things to most Australians. You’d agree that it is a time to reflect on who we are and why we have so many blessings. Have you heard of the amazing story of the rise to greatness of Australia which began some 4,000 years ago?

A phenomenon that has grown considerably in modern times within the Christian churches is the ability to speak in tongues. The subject of "speaking in tongues" has caused considerable discussion and controversy within the Christian community.
What does the Bible tell us about this subject of "speaking in tongues?"
Most people don't realize that waging peace is more challenging than waging war! We have to work at peace – we must make it our goal and do all we can do to bring it about.
Increase in violent incidents and the severity of violence in younger people is a most disturbing trend in Australia. The "king hit" now seems to be so common that we are no longer surprised when we hear reports on the nightly news.

The reason why we have so much suffering in this world is because human beings have rejected and forsaken God and stubbornly will not turn and seek God now while He may be found. God has allowed humankind to write into history the vitally important lesson, that humankind's way, apart from God, does not work.

As he walked, Henry could feel the weight of the old brass key in his pocket. His mind drifted back to that day over a year ago to when he received the key.
Henry had gone away to enjoy the sights and attractions of the world. But he found no real happiness and contentment in those activities. It was only when he returned home to his Father that he had peace of heart and mind.
The letter read "My dear son, ever since you left all those years ago, my greatest desire has been for you to someday return home to us and to put God once again in your life. This key opens a box that is on the shelf behind my desk in the workshop office. It contains my most precious possessions. They are yours whenever you need them."
Do you have a 'Key' which will open the way back to your, our Father? Isn't it time you used it to return home?

The famous Irish writer Oscar Wilde once jokingly said, "I can resist everything but temptation." Most of us struggle with habits and even addictions that get the better of us over and over again. If we are trapped with such problems how do we break free?
When we fall victim to sin we do so because we believe certain lies that accompany those sins. In order to be freed from sin we need to recognize those lies and counter those lies with the truth. There are a whole host of different lies and different lines that Satan uses on us to lure us into sin. Let's look at two of the most common lies as examples of this point of countering the lies of sin with the truth.

This is the third part of a series of blogs about the purpose of God's law. In this series of blogs we are considering the real purpose of living by God's wonderful laws.
Has God given His 10 Commandments, His statute laws regarding God's Sabbath, Holy Days, eating clean meats and not unclean meats, tithing, and many other laws, principles and precepts of how to live, for us to earn salvation?

This is the second part of a series of blogs about the purpose of God's law.
In the first part of this series, we considered what God's law is in conjunction with His Word. We also looked at how these laws will be taught in the future Kingdom of God.
In this blog post, we will explore how the love of God is expressed through obedience of God's laws, how the keeping of God's laws helps us to know and be like Christ, and how God's law is to be our guide to conversion.

What's your greatest treasure?
Some have gone to great lengths to find their treasure and then to hide it away in fear of losing it. However there is a treasure which when given is not to be locked away in a dark hiding place, but nurtured, fed and watered, sharpened and tempered, held precious in our hearts and minds, until a future time. It is a treasure worth fighting for, this is a treasure worth the discipline and sacrifice of a Christian life. It is the a most precious gift from God - a treasure so magnificent it pales into insignificance all the vast wealth of this world.
What's that treasure?
